Pharmacy HouseCalls is J.E. Pierce Apothecary's new service to Brookline and area patrons.
Brookline – In a continuing effort to improve medication administration and adherence, J.E. Pierce Apothecary has launched Pharmacy HouseCalls. The local pharmacy, servicing Brookline for over 30 years, will offer in-home medication management with the goal to help people remember when to take their medicines. Pierce Apothecary already offers delivery services to its Brookline clientele. “This service is the next step in helping people take their medicine on time, reporting side effects quicker, and with the goal of improving patient outcomes” says Kristyn Napoli, PharmD the program director. The service is based off a monthly fee that varies on the exact services needed. “People with complicated medicine regimens could benefit by having their medicine list reviewed by a clinical pharmacist. The patient should know what each medicine is used for and the best dosing time. Each patient will receive an initial consultation then, depending on medication needs, will be visited once or twice monthly.” People whose parents or loved ones are on several medicines may consider buying mom or dad a Pharmacy HouseCall. Patients do not have to receive their medicines from Pierce Apothecary to use this service. J.E. Pierce Apothecary provides many types of aids for dosing medicines including medicine boxes, dosing alarms, insulin travel kits, and others.
